A handbook for NGO Personnel entitled, “Effective Strategies for Tobacco Control Advocacy”, developed by HRIDAY is a compilation of relevant background information about the magnitude of the tobacco problem, the Indian tobacco control law enacted by the Government of India and the role NGOs can play in the field of tobacco control including planning, developing and executing effective advocacy campaigns.
A toolkit has been prepared to assist the public and private sector workplaces to implement the smoke-free rules under the Indian tobacco control law. This toolkit briefly takes them through the law, the ill-effects of tobacco use, the benefits of smoke-free environment and many other important aspects related to making a workplace smoke free. Besides it highlights a few successful interventions at workplaces on smoke-free policies.
